Payroll Year End 2024/2025

Payroll Year End is upon us and emails containing your activation information are in the process of being sent out to you. Inside you will find your activation information and the details you will need to download your upgrade.

To download your Update, please fill in the form at the top of this page and select the correct download link for your software. It is important that you select the correct software.

For Payroll users, the upgrade to the latest version of Opera 3 / Capital Payroll must be installed before running the Payroll Year End and before the first payroll to be run after the 6th April 2025. It can be installed any time before then.

** Opera 3 v2.99.03 - released **

An issue has been identified and resolved in the calculation of Directors National Insurance, as follows:

Where the tax year is 2025/26 and regardless of pay frequency, the Employers National Insurance contribution is not being calculated correctly. This will be applicable once the directors’ earnings exceed the Secondary Threshold for normal Director’s calculations (the Adv field on the Payroll Processing form is set to either blank or T). However, the Employers National Insurance calculation would also be incorrect for a “Special” Director (Type S) in the final pay period of 2025/26.

Employer National Insurance contributions in 2025/26 for Non-Director employees are calculated correctly.

Please be aware that it is not necessary to upgrade software before the end of the 2024/25 payroll year, the issue will not occur before the first pay run of 2025/26 tax year therefore an upgrade to version 2.99.03 should be implemented prior to the first pay run of 2025/26.

Opera 3 v2.99.03 for all variants is available to donwload from the form above.

** Opera 3 v2.99.01 - released **

Includes an update to accommodate the rate changes in the calculation of Scottish Arrestment Orders in preparation for the changes effective from 6th April 2025.
We are pleased to announce that this is now complete as part of the release itself and not a utility.

Pegasus have also discovered an issue in the FPS concerning the <AtLELYTD> tag in the NI section which is included in this release. This does not impact the current tax year but needs to be applied before the start of the new tax year.

Brexit

With Brexit on the horizon on December 31st 2020, it's key you understand as a business the changes that are upcoming and what your organisation must do to align with new Government legislations. On January 1st 2021, the transition period with the European Union (EU) will end and the United Kingdom (UK) will operate a full, external border which means that controls will be placed on the movement of goods between Great Britain (GB) and the EU. This will be similar to the rules that currently apply to movement of goods with non-EU countries.
